This 7 Days Camping Safari and Maasai Tribe Tour is the perfect safari itinerary for those who want to experience the best of Tanzania’s northern circuit parks and cultural tour at affordable price. The trip includes visits to the Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Maasai village. With this Tanzania safari, you’ll have the chance to see Africa’s Big 5 (lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinos), as well as other wildlife species that inhabit these national parks. You’ll also witness the unique annual migration of wildebeests into the Serengeti.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8;00am and take you to a very special safari park in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The Tarangire safari park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, African elephants. In fact, Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. In the afternoon we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

There was a reason that “The Lion King” creators drew their inspiration from the Serengeti, and today you will get to discover why. Renowned for its’ large lion population, this may be the best opportunity to get a great view of a Lion Pride in their natural habitat, as the gazelles, zebras, and buffalo are abundant in this region. Come during the right season, and witness the birth of the wildebeest calves, where they will begin their annual migration to Kenya at the end of May. Lunch will be served in the park, and after a full day of games drives your campsite awaits.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Today you will have time for two game drives, one after breakfast in the morning and another towards evening. If your visiting during the migration your guide will help you track down the location of the Wildebeests. Lunch will be served in the park, and after a full day of games drives your campsite awaits.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

In this day we suggest a very early wake up in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. It’s really one of the most beautiful experiences to have. After the game drive, we return to the camp for a rewarding brunch and then we’ll proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the 8th wonder of the Natural World. The crater spreads for 102 sq. miles and has 2.000 ft high walls, making it virtually a Noah’s ark and inhabiting almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa. It’s one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the black Rhino. The concentration of African wildlife if the greatest in the continent. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Mto wa Mbu

After breakfast, we descend back into the crater for an early morning game drive, hoping the cool morning air allows for us to see some active wildlife. As the temperatures rise, we may head to the hippo pool to see these spectacular creatures enjoying a dip to beat the heat. As lunch approaches, we make our way to the picnic site on the lake, taking in the spectacular views and a bite to eat before you head out on the final game drive. After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head to your campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Mto wa Mbu – Maasai Land

We will start the day after breakfast and leave for 1 hour walk at Mto wa Mbu to experience the life of people over there then after a walk, drive to Masai settlement for a unique visit. You will be welcomed by Masai friendly people with a welcome song. Sing and dance with them and see how they live and share the ideas with them. After a good day, you will spend the night in a special camp set in the Masai settlement.

Day 6: Maasai Land – Arusha

Today will be a very special and different day. In the morning you will experience how do the Maasai people start the day with their herd, milking their cattle and do other activities. Return to the camp for breakfast, afterwards we take lunch at the camp then drive back to Arusha for drop off or transfer to Kilimanjaro (JRO) for your next departure.
